SouverainCode™

Tutorials and help

Twelve short modules, in the order you follow them. Each module has its video and its text. The videos are produced by Archipel and never mention prices: plans are in Settings.

The interface of SouverainCode is in French; the videos name each button in French when you have to click it.

01 Welcome

Public pages · 12 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Bienvenue dans SouverainCode. Welcome to SouverainCode. Talk, code, write: one artificial intelligence, three ways to work, with models that run here in Quebec. Your conversations and your files are never sent to an AI provider.
  2. Trois interfaces, un seul compte. Three interfaces, one account. Talk, to ask your questions and search your documents: it reads, it answers, it never changes your files. Dev, the coding agent: it plans, creates the files, writes the tests and fixes the bugs in your workspace. Bureau, to write your documents and spreadsheets. We look at each one in modules nine, ten and eleven.
  3. Quatre idées à retenir. Four things to remember. The agent reasons, then acts: it plans, works step by step, and asks for your approval before writing. Smart routing picks the right model by itself, depending on how hard the task is. Our server is independent, in Quebec: nothing goes to a cloud giant. And your usage caps are predictable: you always know where you stand.
  4. Commencer. To get started, click Start free 7-day trial. No credit card is required.
  5. La page d'inscription. On the sign-up page, choose your plan first. Discovery is the free 7-day trial. Solo and DEV activate on payment, which the address confirmation link takes you to. You can change plans later, in your settings.
  6. Ton adresse courriel. Enter your email address. It is used to confirm your account and to recover your password if you forget it.
  7. Ton identifiant. Choose your username: lowercase, between three and thirty-one characters. This is what you will log in with.
  8. Ton mot de passe. Then a password of at least eight characters. Keep it safe: nobody on our side can read it.
  9. Créer mon compte. Click Create my account. A confirmation email arrives within minutes: open it and click the link to activate your account. If it is not there, check your junk folder.
  10. Se connecter. To log in, enter your username and password, then click Log in. You land directly in your workspace.
  11. Mot de passe oublié. Forgot your password? Click here, enter your username or your email, and you receive a link valid for one hour to choose a new one. No email on file? Write to the operator: the address is shown right below.
  12. La suite. That is it, your account is ready. In the next module, we give the agent its first order and watch how it works.

02 Giving an order

Workspace (Dev) · 9 steps

  1. Ton espace de travail. This is your workspace. The interface is in French. On the left, your conversations and your files. In the middle, the mission thread. At the bottom, the box where you write your orders. On the right, the panel showing code, console and agents.
  2. Dire ce que tu veux. Write what you want to get, the way you would tell a coworker: the expected result, not the method. The agent takes care of the how.
  3. Un premier ordre. For example: create a file welcome dot txt with a short welcome note, then display its content. Press Enter, or click the arrow.
  4. L'agent se met au travail. As soon as you send, the agent gets to work. The logo spins at the top of the thread, and the Stop button, « Arrêter », appears: you can interrupt it at any time.
  5. Il demande la permission. Before writing a file or running a command, the agent asks for your permission. « Approuver », approve this action only. « Tout approuver », approve everything for the rest of the mission. « Refuser », refuse and stop there.
  6. Le résultat. Here we approve everything. The agent writes the file, displays its content and sums up what it did. Each action shows up in a « Travail » block, meaning work: open it to see the details.
  7. Le fichier créé. The new file appears in your list, on the left. Click it to open it in the right panel.
  8. Repartir à neuf. The agent remembers everything said in a conversation: stay in it as long as you work on the same thing. For a different topic, click « Nouvelle conversation », new conversation.
  9. La suite. Next module: choosing the model's power and the length of the answers.

03 Fast, Strong, Deep

Workspace (Dev) · 7 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Deux réglages. Two settings change how the agent works. They sit just left of the writing box, and you can change them with every message.
  2. Rapide, Fort, Profond. Rapide, Fort or Profond, that is Fast, Strong or Deep: the power of the model. Fast answers in a few seconds: perfect for short questions and small tasks. Strong takes longer, but reasons better. Deep is for the problems that resist.
  3. Le routage automatique. You do not have to choose every time. When a task gets harder, the agent steps up in power by itself, Fast, then Strong, then Deep, and keeps that level until the end of the mission. This automatic escalation comes with the DEV plan; Discovery and Solo work on Fast.
  4. Courte ou Longue. Courte or Longue, short or long: the length of the answers. Short: a few sentences, straight to the point. Long: a structured answer, with explanations and steps.
  5. Le mode plan. Plan mode. When it is on, the agent first writes the list of steps before touching anything. You read the plan, adjust if needed, and only then does it execute. Precious for big jobs.
  6. Éteindre le mode plan. Click again to turn it off. During a mission, the plan stays visible in the right panel.
  7. La suite. Next module: approvals and isolation, to keep control over what the agent is allowed to do.

04 Approvals and isolation

Workspace (Dev) · 8 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Garder le contrôle. The agent can write files and run commands. This module shows how you keep control over what it is allowed to do.
  2. La barre de permission. Under the writing box, the permission bar. It tells you two things: whether isolation is active, and which approval mode the agent works in.
  3. L'isolation. Isolation is a sandbox. Every command the agent runs lives in a closed container, with no access to your machine or to the rest of the server. If the agent makes a mistake, it only breaks the sandbox, never your things.
  4. Choisir le mode. Click the bar to choose the approval mode. There are three.
  5. Les trois modes. « Modifications seulement », changes only, is the default: the agent reads freely, but asks before writing a file or running a command. « Toujours demander », always ask: it asks for every action, even a read. « Automatique »: it never asks. Keep that one for tasks you know well.
  6. On garde le défaut. We keep changes only. Your choice is saved for all your next missions.
  7. La carte d'approbation. During a mission, each request appears as a card in the thread, with the details of the action. Approve, for that one. Approve all, for the rest of this mission only: your permanent setting does not change. Refuse, and the agent stops there. And the Stop button at the top cuts everything, any time.
  8. La suite. Next module: your files, how to open, edit and retrieve them.

05 Your files

Workspace (Dev) · 7 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Ton espace de travail. Everything the agent creates lives in your workspace: a folder of your own, separate from other customers, that nobody else can see.
  2. La liste des fichiers. On the left, the list of your files. It updates by itself when the agent writes. Folders open and close with one click.
  3. Ouvrir un fichier. Click a file: it opens in the right panel, in the Code tab. You can read it right away.
  4. Modifier et enregistrer. The « Modifier » button opens the editor. « Enregistrer » saves your changes directly into your workspace. No need to go through the agent for a small fix.
  5. Joindre un document. The plus button, next to the writing box, attaches a document or an image to your message: a PDF, a spreadsheet, a screenshot. The agent reads it and uses it to answer. You can also drop the file straight into the window.
  6. Tout récupérer. To take everything with you, click « Exporter »: you download your whole workspace as a single zip file. Your files belong to you; you take them whenever you want.
  7. La suite. Next module: agents, to hand specialized tasks to dedicated assistants.

06 Agents

Workspace (Dev) · 7 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Des assistants spécialisés. The main agent can delegate. This module presents the agents: specialized assistants, each with its own instructions and its own tools.
  2. L'onglet Agents. In the right panel, the Agents tab. An agent is a specialized assistant: its own instructions, its own tools, and it works in its own corner while you do something else.
  3. Les cartes. Each card is an agent. The coloured dot tells you whether it is free or busy. At the top, the number of agents that can work at the same time, depending on your plan.
  4. Lui donner un ordre. Give it an order straight from its card, and follow its progress here. How many agents run at the same time depends on your plan: one on Discovery and Solo, two on DEV. The Stop button cuts it short if needed.
  5. Cloner et modifier. The agents shipped with SouverainCode can be cloned, « Cloner »: you get your own copy, which you can modify. Its instructions, its model, the list of tools it may use. An agent of your own has the « Modifier » button.
  6. Créer le tien. To create one from scratch, ask the main agent, in plain words: create an agent that proofreads my texts and fixes mistakes without changing the meaning. It asks two or three questions, proposes a summary, and the agent appears in the list, ready for orders.
  7. La suite. Next module: your settings and your plan.

07 Settings and plan

Settings · 9 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Les réglages. Your settings are reached through the « Réglages » link, bottom left of the workspace. Everything is grouped in sections you open with one click.
  2. Compte. Compte, account: your username, your email address and your password. This is also where you can delete your account if one day you want to leave: everything is erased, no way back.
  3. Abonnement. Abonnement, subscription: your current plan, your invoices, and the buttons to change plans or cancel. You can leave any time, without notice.
  4. Utilisation. Utilisation, usage: where you stand in your month. The number of requests, the space taken by your files, the reset date. No surprise at the end of the month.
  5. Modèles et routage. Modèles et routage: the models your plan gives you, and how the agent moves from one to another.
  6. Outils et plugins. Outils et plugins: what the agent is allowed to use. Reading and writing files, running commands, searching the web. The list depends on your plan; on a SouverainBox, the administrator can install more.
  7. Sécurité. Sécurité: the limits that protect your account against abuse, like the maximum number of steps per mission or the pace of messages.
  8. Apparence. Apparence: light or dark theme, and the text size. Choose what rests your eyes.
  9. La suite. That is it for the settings. Next module: Archipel, the company behind SouverainCode, and how to reach us.

08 Archipel and the SouverainBox

Public pages · 7 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Un service d'Archipel. SouverainCode is a service by Archipel, a company from Lévis, Quebec. Archipel builds local artificial intelligence solutions: with the SouverainBox, your data never leaves your walls; online, it stays on our servers in Lévis, Quebec.
  2. Vos données ne partent jamais. Here, your conversations and your files are never sent to an AI provider. The models run on our own infrastructure, in Quebec. Your conversations are never used to train a model, and you can delete them at any time. The only data that leaves Quebec is named in the privacy policy.
  3. La SouverainBox. To go even further, the SouverainBox: a ready-to-use box, delivered with SouverainCode and the models already installed. You plug it into your network, open your browser, and everything runs inside your walls. Nothing leaves your company, not even to us.
  4. Standard ou Premium. Standard, for a team getting started. Premium, with twice the memory, to keep several models loaded at once. In both cases: a brand-name computer, covered by the manufacturer's warranty, that starts up on its own. The exact hardware and price are set by quote.
  5. Demander une démo. For a demo, or any question, write to us: archipel dot clients, at outlook dot com. We answer in English or in French, from Lévis.
  6. Noir sur blanc. Our commitments are written in black and white in the privacy policy, linked at the bottom of every page: what we keep, for how long, and how to erase everything.
  7. Fin de la formation. This is the end of the basic training. You know how to create your account, give an order, set the power, keep control, manage your files and your agents. Enjoy SouverainCode.

09 Talk, the conversation

Talk · 8 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Trois visages. SouverainCode has three faces, and you switch between them with these three buttons. Talk, to chat. Dev, to make the agent work in your files. Bureau, to write documents.
  2. Talk. Talk is the simple conversation: you ask a question, it answers. Talk never modifies your files, but it can read them, search your document base and search the web. Perfect for thinking, explaining, translating or summarizing.
  3. Poser une question. Write your question the way you would ask anyone. For example: explain in three sentences what Quebec's Law 25 is.
  4. La réponse. Send. The answer writes itself in front of you, in a few seconds with the Fast model. And as always, it is produced here, in Quebec.
  5. La puissance. As in Dev, you choose the power: Fast, Strong or Deep. For a deeper question, step up one level.
  6. Enchaîner. You can follow up: it remembers the conversation. Ask for a precision, an example, a simpler wording.
  7. Il suit le fil. And the answer takes into account everything said before.
  8. La suite. Next module: Dev, a real coding mission from start to finish.

10 Dev, a real coding mission

Dev · 12 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Dev. Dev is the mode where the agent really works: it reads and writes your files, runs commands, tests, fixes. We do a complete mission, from start to finish.
  2. L'ordre. The order: write a Python script that computes GST and QST on an amount, with a test that checks the result for one hundred dollars, then run the test. Notice that we say what to check: the agent takes the test seriously.
  3. Il commence. It announces its plan, then writes the first file. First permission request.
  4. Tout approuver. Approve all, « Tout approuver », and it carries on: the script, the test, the run. If the test fails, it reads the error and fixes it by itself, then runs again. That is the difference with a simple assistant.
  5. Les blocs Travail. Each action is logged in a « Travail » block. Open it to see the exact command and what it answered.
  6. Le code. The file is in your list. Click: it opens in the Code tab on the right, ready to be reviewed or edited.
  7. La console. The Console tab gives you the keyboard: type a command, it runs in the same sandbox as the agent.
  8. Une commande. For example, run the test yourself, to see with your own eyes that it passes.
  9. Le résultat. The command goes through the agent, in the same sandbox: it first asks your permission to run it.
  10. Le résultat dans la console. Approve, and the result appears in the console: the test passes. The Install button adds a library to the sandbox, provided you have turned on « Container network » in the settings — which is not offered on Discovery.
  11. Une correction au besoin. If it has to fix something, it asks for permission again: approve once more, and it runs again until it passes.
  12. La suite. Next module: Bureau, to write documents without a single line of code.

11 Bureau, writing documents

Bureau · 9 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Bureau. Bureau is for writing: letters, minutes, quotes, policies, tables. No code, no files to manage. You describe, it writes.
  2. Décrire le document. First way: describe your document in your own words. A letter to a customer about a late delivery, with our apologies and a commercial gesture.
  3. Générer. Generate, « Générer ». The text writes itself in front of you, in careful language, with the requested tone. You can pick the language of the document, French or English.
  4. Le document. The document is there. You can touch it up directly, and undo or redo your changes with the arrows.
  5. Le correcteur. The proofreader rereads the text and flags what is off: one click, and it is fixed.
  6. Copier, télécharger, imprimer. Then: copy, download as Word, plain text or Markdown, or print directly.
  7. Partir d'un modèle. Second way: start from a template. Correspondence, meetings, offers, human resources, policies, tables: each category opens with one click.
  8. Choisir un modèle. Pick a template, fill in a few fields, decide the tone and the length, and it writes it by the book.
  9. Fin. This is the end of the training. Talk to chat, Dev to build, Bureau to write. Enjoy SouverainCode.

12 Archipel Memory and Documents

Settings and Documents · 10 steps

Read the module's text
  1. Your documents stay with you. Archipel Memory is SouverainCode's document base. Rule number one: your documents stay with you, they never go up to our servers. The agent searches them through a small program installed on your computer, Archipel. Everything is set up here, in Settings, under Document base.
  2. Download Archipel. Step one: download Archipel for Windows. One click, one download. Windows may show a warning, because the installer is not signed yet: click More info, then Run anyway. The file's fingerprint is shown right below, so you can check it is really ours.
  3. Name the device. Step two: link your computer. Give the device a name, so you recognize it later.
  4. Create the token. Create the token. It is the key that links this device to your account: copy it right away, it will never be shown again. In Archipel, click the SouverainCode button at the top right and paste it. One token per computer.
  5. My devices. Your linked devices appear here. A computer lost or replaced? Revoke its device: its token is worthless from then on.
  6. The Documents page. Then, in Archipel, drop a file: it is added. Drop a folder: it is watched, and everything added to it is indexed automatically. The Documents page in SouverainCode shows what the agent can consult, and reminds you where your base lives: on your computer.
  7. Search with the agent. To search, tell the agent in plain words: search my documents for the termination clause of the contract. It answers with the passages it found and cites the file. Only those passages travel, encrypted, never the whole document.
  8. The log. On your computer, Archipel keeps a log: every question received, every passage sent. You see exactly what was consulted, and by whom.
  9. On a SouverainBox. On a SouverainBox, Archipel is already installed: a shared base for the company, a personal base for each account, and nothing leaves your walls, not even a passage.
  10. The end. Your documents at home, the intelligence in Quebec, and an agent that cites its sources. This is the end of the SouverainCode training.
